Amit Kainth, MD

Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Dr. Kainth brings his kind and caring demeanor down to Oregon. As a vascular surgeon, he specializes in the management of aortic disease, peripheral arterial disease, carotid disease, and venous disease. He is trained in both open and endovascular surgery with a special interest in the latest minimally invasive endovascular treatments.

Education

Dr. Kainth received a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry at the University of British Columbia. He then earned his medical degree at Saba University School of Medicine in the Netherlands Antilles. After medical school he started his internship and general surgical training at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He then completed his general surgery residency as well as a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Certifications & Specialties

Certified by The American Board of Surgery, Dr. Kainth has particular interests in both open and endovascular surgery for cerebrovascular disease, thoracic and abdominal aortic disease and peripheral vascular disease. He is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) and has published peer reviewed articles on aortic reinterventions, traumatic aortic injuries and popliteal aneurysm repair.

Personal Interests

Dr. Kainth and his wife recently welcomed a baby boy. When he isn’t working, he enjoys playing competitive ice hockey, golf and travelling.
