Doctor Bios
Charles J. Stanton, M.D.
Dr. Charles Stanton grew up in the San Francisco bay area. After completing residency he opened a general, thoracic and vascular surgical practice in 1987 in the Eugene/Springfield area.
He is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons and has extensive experience with laparoscopic surgery of the esophagus, spleen and endocrine glands. He has performed over 1,000 anterior spine exposures, and developed surgical instrumentation and techniques in this area. He has published and lectured internationally on laparoscopic splenectomy as well as anterior exposure of the spine.
His hobbies include vineyard management/winemaking, bicycle touring, music, and scuba diving.
He and his wife, Julie, a radiation oncologist, share five children.
